I’m not ready for Christmas. Not. At. All. There has been so much going on lately, between my past failed back surgery and my current back fracture that I’ve been more focused on healing and keeping my pain under control, than on my Christmas shopping. But alas, I lit a fire under myself to get on the ball. What I have decided to do is to make D.I.Y. family-style (laundry basket) gift baskets for my kids and a couple for friends. I only have 1 completed basket and I probably would still be procrastinating about it if it weren’t for the fact that all my babies are coming Saturday for my early Thanksgiving meal and I won’t see my son and his family before Christmas. I focused on Christmas items in theirs as well as bath and household products, because like I mentioned, they’ll be getting it early and in time to start getting ready for Christmas. Looking at the below pic is making me realize that I really need to get on the ball. Each one is going to be different because each family is different.
Every basket is getting the essentials such as bath and body products such as Suave shampoo, body wash for him and her, razors, lotion, deodorant, toothpaste, etc, and, laundry products hence the laundry baskets, such as Gain laundry detergent, softener, dryer sheets, etc. I’m also adding in Gain dish detergent, Febreeze air freshener and in some Glade candles. For those with pets, I’m including treats and a toy for them as well. I bought 99% of everything at Dollar General because I have a DG Market across the street from me, and that’s where I will finish 99% of my basket fillers from. I’ve been shopping for the Dollar General in-store and digital coupon deals on my DG app, so I’m keeping it affordable this year. For everything else, there’s online shopping.
