Chelsea Got A Large Cat Window Perch
Oh my gosh, my cat sheds. And sheds, and sheds. I can’t keep the furniture and carpet clean enough. I’ll find clumps of her long hair all over everything. On the days my back is aching too bad to vacuum, I go around with my grabber device picking the clumps up. BTW if you are disabled and you do not have a grabber, you need one. I would not be able to manage without mine.
She’s always been a shedder but it seems like this year is worse. I don’t know if it has anything to do with the fact that since moving here, she can now go outside without me fearing she’ll get run over. I’ve never let her out a single day of her life until I moved here. And I like to keep my apartment cold. Really cold (even before menopause came a-knocking, I preferred cooler temps over warmer temps). I could be wrong but I think when she goes outdoors and lays in the sunlight, it’s causing her to shed more than if she remained an indoor cat only with temps ranging from 68 to 70 any given day.
I said all of that to say this. Anytime I can keep Chelsea off the furniture, I’m a happy camper. I started doing a search for window perches and I found one on Amazon. Chelsea is a big cat. I needed a long and wide perch and this one was a disaster (but good news to follow). It was so difficult to assemble and when I finally managed to, it broke from her weight and she fell to the ground. Luckily it wasn’t that far of a tumble. The title is so misleading. The misspellings and grammatical errors should have been a red flag that it was from China and their products just aren’t up to par with Made In The U.S.A. products, IMO.
She’s a true couch potato. Well, she was.
But I’m a determined soul. And I kept searching until I found one I thought would be better. And it is. When I bought it, they didn’t have a heated one available and I wish I had found one with the heated option but that hasn’t stopped Chelsea from enjoying her perch. It’s so funny looking to see her laying on it when I go anywhere, waiting for me to come back. All you can see from the outside is a huge cat that looks suspended in the air, lol.
