Herb Garden Wall Planter For My Kitchen
As I’ve mentioned in the past, when I moved in, it was with the intent to add a garden wall in my kitchen. I have a big blank wall that just has too much dead space. I had to abandon the garden wall idea when I realized how cumbersome it would be and how easily it would be to run into it every time I needed to get something out of my cupboards. I did come up with somewhat of a solution to add some greenery on the wall, and it’s with an item I found online at Amazon.
While it looks pretty, when first set up, the reality is that plants don’t thrive in the pots that come with it. There aren’t any drain holes, which makes sense considering its made to hang on a wall, and the dirt seems to harden no matter if I add straight potting soil or add peat in it. And much to my dismay, bringing soil and plants into my kitchen has also brought in pests which I’ve been able to manage with https://www.pestcontrolexperts.com/local/utah/. At this time, I’m experimenting with different plants to find any that can grow in the conditions it puts plants in. Herbs were my first choice and they died almost instantly.
The plants I have in it now are also dying and as of today, I’m dumping everything out and am going to try again. I’ve tried succulents which were also a fail, so I’m going to have to research for plants that don’t need much light or water. I’m not ready to give up and add fake plants yet. If you know of any plants that would do well under these conditions, in this wall planter please let me know. I love the look of the planter and I really want to add some greenery in my kitchen.
